Mas de la Picolette is tucked away in a silent, hidden valley, surrounded by impressive hills
and a pretty shady river.
The
house is a beautifully-proportioned, well appointed converted mas (farmhouse) of two
adjoining buildings, built in
the 1920s.
The property comfortably sleeps 10 + 2 children and a baby in 6 bedrooms and has 3 bath/shower
rooms, spacious living
/ dining areas and
a huge kitchen. The house is furnished simply and comfortably, in bright Mediterranean
colours and it has a spacious, airy and cool
ambiance. Even when the house is full, there is plenty of space for all.
We only rent Picolette out to single parties.
The Main House has 3
bedrooms: on the first floor is the master double bedroom with en-suite shower
room and a glorious view over the garden and surrounding hills; on
the ground floor is a double bedroom with hand-basin, and twin bedroom - these share the downstairs
bath/shower room. There is large living
accommodation with a dining area seating 10+, a comfy sitting area around the
TV and wood-burning stove, with three sofas - and
a large and extremely well-appointed kitchen. There is a terrace outside the Main House with seating
and an electric canopy.
The Studio is right next door to
the Main House. There is a double
bedroom, a twin bedroom and a small bedroom with bunk beds for children. We also have a cot, baby
bath, 2 highchairs etc. There is a large bathroom
with separate shower and loo, shared by these three bedrooms.
For
those that can't resist staying in touch with home, mobile telephone reception
is usually fine despite the rural environment (often tricky in France) and we have English
TV with loads of channels. We have a DVD and video player and CD/radio in
the house. We also have a stock of our own DVDs, videos and CDs which
guests are more than welcome to borrow. The same goes for our increasingly
extensive library of "holiday reads" - growing annually as guests
leave books behind for us. Arrangements can be made for
internet access on request but only when we are on site. There is a phone for incoming calls
only - information about buying phone cards to make out-going calls is
available.
In
these days of pet passports, pets will be considered, but this is completely
down to our discretion and must be discussed with us. Broadly, this is
our dog policy
